Goodbye Summer., Hello fall!

Goodbye Summer... Hello fall.

For most of us in the USA from the east coast to the middle of the country, the long beautiful lengthy days of summer are over. The late-day warm sun sets, now turn into early sunsets and cool evenings. The beach towels and toys are neatly tucked away, waiting for children in happiness and delight to unpack them again next summer.

The carefreeness of summer fun, is now replaced by structure and school activities. The sun kissed skin of children will be replaced with static hair under a cap and coat on rainy days. Adults gathering on patios in a late-night cooking and drinking will be replaced by slipping into early evening PJs and hot tea at night.

Each season has its own beauty and value in our lives. The long hot days of summer and excitement will be replaced by warm apple pies, pumpkins, fancy coffees and crunching fall leaves underfoot and the amazing beauty of the Fall foliage on a crisp sunny Autumn day. Children will gleam in excitement of pumpkins and costumes, hayrides and fall activities.

We will settle in and enjoy the bounty of the harvest with good home cooking, to replace fruits, sandwiches and salads of the summer.

We always must take time to value and appreciate those who labor to bring us the food and fruits of life, without their hard work we would not have all this bountiful food to enjoy.

Fall is the time to step back relax and reflect, we will wait in anticipation of the winter days and holidays ahead. Soon after Fall, the bright gold and yellow leaves will be replaced by blankets of snow, hot chocolate and tea ... coats, early sleepy nights, blankets, colds and thermometers and quietness when the holidays settle down. We will await the light to come brighter a minute everyday in the new year, and wait for the promise and hope of the newness of spring and the joys of Summer again.
