Mother Theresa Quotes~

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.

When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her. It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed.

Love does not measure; it just gives.

The child is God's Gift to the family. Each child is created in the special image and likeness of God for greater things - to love and to be loved.

Let us love one another as God loves each one of us. And where does this love begin? In our own home. How does it begin? By praying together.

Keep the joy of loving God in your heart and share this joy with all you meet especially your family. Be holy – let us pray.

Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.

God made the world rich enough to feed and clothe all human beings.

What I can do, You cannot. What you can do, I cannot. But together we can do something beautiful for God.

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

Instead of death and sorrow, let us bring peace and joy to the world.

I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?

Each one of them is Jesus in disguise.

Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.

God has created each one of us, every human being, for greater things-- to love and to be loved.

Do ordinary things with extraordinary Love.

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.

Love begins by taking care of the closest ones – the ones at home.

There is no greater sickness in the world today than the lack of love.

We can do no great things; only small things with great love.

Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.

Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. Anyone may gather it and no limit is set. Everyone can reach this love through meditation, spirit of prayer, and sacrifice, by an intense inner life.

Even the rich are hungry for love, for being cared for, for being wanted, for having someone to call their own.

I try to give to the poor people for love what the rich could get for money. No, I wouldn’t touch a leper for a thousand pounds; yet I willingly cure him for the love of God.

We need to find God, and God cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature--trees and flowers and grass--grow in silence. See the stars, the moon, and the sun, how they move in silence. The more we receive in silent prayer, the more we can give in our active life.

The important thing is not how much we accomplish, but how much love we put into our deeds every day. That is the measure of our love for God.

People who love each other fully and truly are the happiest people in the world. They may have little, they may have nothing, but they are happy people. Everything depends on how we love one another.

All sicknesses have cures. The only one that cannot be cured is the sickness of feeling unloved. I invite all those who appreciate our work to look around them and be willing to love those who have no love and to offer them their services. Are we not, by definition, messengers of love?

I once picked up a woman from a garbage dump and she was burning with fever; she was in her last days and her only lament was: ‘My son did this to me.’ I begged her: You must forgive your son. In a moment of madness, when he was not himself, he did a thing he regrets. Be a mother to him, forgive him. It took me a long time to make her say: ‘I forgive my son.’ Just before she died in my arms, she was able to say that with a real forgiveness. She was not concerned that she was dying. The breaking of the heart was that her son did not want her. This is something you and I can understand.

There is only one God and He is God to all; therefore it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God. I’ve always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic. We believe our work should be our example to people. We have among us 475 souls - 30 families are Catholics and the rest are all Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs—all different religions. But they all come to our prayers.

Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.
