Day 7 ...Step Back...Rest

Embrace and appreciate rest and leisure time. Stress Is part of life, we all have It and actually need some to keep us strong or challenged, but know where to draw a line when you know you are OVERDOING IT. Sometimes we just need to take a Day and really Do Nothing!

I remember growing up In the US, there really were Sunday drives, and you better have had your gas, because all local gas stations were closed. In fact EVERYTHING was closed, accept Ice cream shops. People did not work on those days. No Malls, Stores, Doctors. There were laws that were particularly the observance of Sunday as a day of worship or rest. So you did recreational things not errands. Weekends~Saturdays and Sunday's, were Fun, Cooking, and at night we all gathered around the TV after a Family dinner or Picnic or Sporting Event and watched TV together...It was Truly A Special Day of the Week! A day to worship God, life, and family was set aside and observed, imagine that.

Even In some other cultures,or countries, especially the European culture, they really know what leisure Is, they relax on weekends, take long Holidays, gosh even during the week they stop, nap, or take a long lunch! That Is probably the reason, the quality of their work Is so great, when they do things they do It full force, and well, and they know when enough Is enough!

Do you still choose to Rest and Relax on these days? Unfortunately we live In a society that dictates never slowing down, everyone Is constantly moving or working....We lost the world and place of "Leisure Time"

Sometimes you just need to sit back, sit on the deck or patio and do nothing...maybe read or listen to music.....

Have the most Beautiful Saturday Or Sunday~~~ I DO BELIEVE the 7th Day was made for REST!!!! Diane

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time”

John Lubbock quotes (English Biologist and Politician, 1834-1913)
“Rest when you're weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work.”

Ralph Marston quotes
